HAZEL Buist followed on from her impressive form during the cross-country season as she competed over ten kilometres on an undulating course around Carsington Water Reservoir in Derbyshire.

The Halstead Road Runners member was third female over the 10k distance in a time of 47 minutes 32 seconds.

Husband Jon Buist opted for the half marathon distance where he finished in one hour 36m 20s in 23rd position.

Another race with dual distance options was the Tarpley 20/10, with seemingly never ending hills on country lanes just outside Bury St Edmunds.

Halstead's Richard Candler, competing over the 20 mile distance for the first time, finished in 2h 21m 40s in 30th position, while Nicole Smith took on the shorter ten-mile race and finished in 1h 28m 51s.

With the date being 26.2, Dan Smith travelled to Kent for the Marathon Day Marathon at Bettenshanger.

Smith covered the 13-lap course in 4h 28m.

Finally John Warne did the St Peter's Way Ultra-Marathon.

It is a 45-mile pathway from Chipping Ongar to Bradwell-on-Se, with Warne finishing in 9h 39m 53s.
