Halstead Town manager Mark Benterman says he is already seeing the leadership qualities he wants to from his new club captain.
Dave Morgan has been handed the skipper’s armband following the departure of Lewis Cunliffe at the end of last season.
Morgan has experience of playing at a higher level, having been at clubs in the Conference and Ryman League and Benterman said the influence of his new captain on team-mates has already been evident in the first week of their pre-season preparations.
Benterman said: “Dave has been phenomenal.
“No disrespect to anyone who has pulled on the captain’s armband in the past at Halstead, but there’s a different vibe around the club and Dave has bought into that with his professionalism.
“He’s got an experienced head on his shoulders and you can see that in the way he is around the group."
