Halstead Running Club’s ladies dominated the podium at the Flitch Way Half Marathon.

Danni Evans was first female as she finished in one hour 44 minutes 18 seconds, while Hazel Buist was third as she finished only a few minutes behind in 1h 51m 58s.

Megan Hollinshead finished the 13.1 mile course in a new personal best (PB) as she knocked 36 minutes from her previous fastest time with a run of 2h 3m 46s, while Holly Blackwell marked her Halstead debut and her first half marathon with a solid run of 2h 9m 49s.

Andy Wilmot travelled to the West Country for the Yeovil Marathon and finished in 4h 5m, while Jim Leaney headed to Liverpool for the ’Rock N Roll’ Marathon and ran 5h 12m ahead of his 12-hour endurance race this weekend.

Aaron Heard ran in the Bury St Edmunds Friday Five race series and completed the five-mile course in 38m 49s.

Saturday Parkruns were also full of achievements for Halstead runners.

Julia Woolnough and Maurice Young took on the Cornard five-kilometre course, with Woolnough finishing in a PB of 26m 35s and Young smashing the course record in his age category in 32m 56s.

Ian Chandler’s fine form continued as he also managed a PB at the Notley event, finishing fifth overall in 20m 51s.
