Bird soars in first major
Dickie Bird was the clear winner of Colne Valley Golf Club seniors’ first major piece of silverware of the year – the Bengt Eriksson Trophy.
Bird triumphed with 40 points, from Dennis Gibson and John Thomson, who both had 36 points
The men’s stableford took place in very tricky conditions and the winner, for the second week in a row, was Mike Blinman with 33 points.
Matthew Butler was second with 32 points and Lee Taylor was third with 30.
