Mark Benterman will be telling his Halstead Town players that they owe their travelling fans a big show tomorrow.
A big contingent of travelling Humbugs supporters is expected to make the trip from Halstead all the way up to Great Yarmouth to see the semi-final of the Thurlow Nunn League First Division Cup.
Halstead don’t expect to play too much part in the division one promotion race at the end of the season, but the prospect of a cup final is an enticing one and Benterman wants his players to remember last year’s triumphant experience in another cup competition.
He said: “We have to draw on the memories of winning the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Cup final (at Witham Town) last year.
“You expect your big players to step forward in big games and this will be one of those occasions.
“People like (chairman) Jim Holder, (vice-chairman) Mark Juniper and so many other behind the scenes have been banging the drum for years and they deserve to see success.
“You need to win things and if you do that it shows the progress that you are making and that you are heading in the right direction."
