A former Halstead Cricket Club player has gained further recognition on the world stage.
New Zealander Matt Henry, who featured as an overseas played for the Star Stile club during their 2010 Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League campaign, followed making his international debut the week before by being snapped up by one of the biggest sides in the Indian Premier League auction.
The 22-year-old was bought by the Chennai Super Kings outfit for three million rupees (£29,000) during the initial round of bidding and he will play alongside a glittering array of world stars if he sees action.
