Three Halstead Road Runners turned out for the Essex Veterans Cross-Country Championships.
The five-mile race was held at Chigwell Row in cold and challenging conditions.
A two-lap course started and finished on open grassland, covered with hard packed snow.
However, the majority of the route was in very hilly woodland with melting snow ensuring plenty of slippery paths.
In the over-50 men’s race, Andrew Bailey had a great run, finishing in 31st place with a time of 41 minutes 21 seconds.
That ensured he was the second-placed over-65 runner, just three seconds behind the winner of that age group.
