THREE swimmers from Halstead Swimming Club travelled to Luton to compete in the ASA Eastern Region Championships with Ole Mills leading the way by claiming a podium finish.

Mills, Sam Johnson and Katherine Daynes had all qualified to swim at this prestigious event, with all having breaststroke as their main discipline.

Daynes qualified for the 50 metre, 100m and 200m breaststroke and finished in the top 30 overall in the 15-year-old category in all disciplines.

Johnson finished 13th in the 17 years and over 50m breaststroke, while Mills finished tenth in the 17 years and over 50m breaststroke, 12th in the 100m breatstroke and was 16th in the 17 years and over 200 individual medley.

The swim of the weekend went to Mills in the 200m breaststroke, though, where he made the final and finished in second place.

Head coach Roger Duncombe and assistant head coach John Lowe were proud to be coaching their swimmers at such a prestigious event.
