CHILDREN and their families had a magic day of activities during a special Harry Potter-themed event.

Billericay Library was transformed into a Hogwarts classroom and children were sorted into Griffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw houses from J.K. Rowling’s book series.

Marina Sneath, senior customer service assistant at the library, said: “The event went really well; we had about 40 children and had actually sold out before the event.

“Most of the children were dressed up - in fact more were in fancy dress than not.

“There were lots of Harry Potters, a Snape, a Professor Quirrell and quite a few other characters from the books.

“Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves and all of the children were very knowledgeable when we had the quiz.

“The event went really quickly - it was meant to be an hour and a half but they ran over as they got carried away.

“The children were all sorted into their houses and were given badges and house points when they won activities.

“At the end of the day Griffindor won the most house points overall. It was all great fun.”
