A LONDON service to Southend has been cancelled and another altered due to a signalling failure.

The 8.13am Liverpool Street service to Southend Victoria, which was due to arrive at 9.14am, has been cancelled due to the signalling fault earlier today.

The 7.57am service, due to arrive at 8.57am, will no longer call at Billericay, Wickford, Rayleigh, Hockley, Rochford and Prittlewell for the same reason.

It's news if you use that line, which a lot of people do.

Yes, but if I wanted to know about train delays I would look at the operators website.

I can’t see anything on the Echo site about the broken down train I was on at Limehouse last night causing massive disruption on the C2C line for hours.

Might as well start reporting when either C2C or Great Eastern are running smoothly for once. That'll be even bigger news than hearing on an almost daily basis that there are troubles with the line, train or signals which are causing delays...

I use C2C Monday – Friday and can count on one hand for the year when there are issues. Last night was the first time in ages that I can remember having problems getting home, but then paying over £3400 a year I expect a good service.

Shame most train companies in the UK offer sure dire service.
