A MAN died after he was subjected to a "brutal and sustained attack" in a Clacton street in the early hours of New Year's Day.
A murder trial jury heard Oliver Smith-Daye died from his injuries after he was attacked with a golf club, punched and stamped on.
Neighbours in Trimley Close were woken up by the incident.
Chelmsford Crown Court heard many had views of what happened to Mr Smith-Daye.
One man was seen wielding a golf club and charging towards him while a woman was seen pushing him. The court heard how Mr Smith-Daye died later the same day in hospital.
