A green show home has been unveiled.
Greenfields Community Housing and Higgins Construction have opened the first BREEAM retrofit show home in Essex in White Horse Avenue, Halstead.
The three-bedroom house has been converted to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 80%, to comply with the Government’s target for all households by 2050.
A family will be moved into the White Horse Avenue home in the next couple of months and closely monitored to check the benefits of the improvements.
It is hoped the green changes will be used in other Greenfields homes.
