A CARE home has had a grand opening of its new tea room last Thursday.
Brewster House care home in Oak Road, Heybridge introduced a new tea room for those in the care home as well as the public.
The launch was at 11am and featured cakes and refreshments.
Dignitaries including new Heybridge Chairman Richard Perry and Maldon mayor Jeanette Stilts attended the opening.
Chef for the care home Leah Smith said: “It went really really well.
“We’ve already had bookings for parties because of the launch.
“The chairman and the mayor were here.
“They really enjoyed it and stayed for a long time.”
Councillor Richard Perry said: “It’s a very nice facility, very welcome for the community.
“Being a former chef, I took the liberty of walking around the kitchen and I was impressed with the menu and the cleanliness.
“All the dishes are made from scratch.
“It was all very impressive.”
