A popular charity fundraiser which was cancelled twice due to adverse weather conditions has been rescheduled.

Essex and Herts Air Ambulance's Heli Hounds Dog Walk will now take place on Sunday, June 17, at Great Notley Country Park.

The event was initially set to take place twice in March but was cancelled due to a flurry of snow across the county.

Previously, walkers were due to set off from the charity's base in Earls Colne before traversing the grounds of the Marks Hall Estate, Coggeshall, however the venue has been moved.

Fay Boissieux, events manager at Essex and Herts Air Ambulnce, said: "We are looking forward to seeing as many of our four-legged friends and their owners as possible.

"Great Notley Country Park is a lovely place to visit. As it is Father’s Day, we are hoping that families will take the chance to enjoy the great outdoors with Dad and man’s best friend.

“We are delighted have found a new date for this event, which is popular with dogs and their owners alike. We will be in touch with those who have already registered with full details.”

Pre-registration for the event costs £5, with tickets on the day costing £7.50.

The first 250 dogs to pre-register will receive a special bandana, however there are only a few remaining.

Ms Boissieux said: "Registration on the day opens at 9.30am and the walk begins at 10.30am.”
