FIRE crews were scrambled to a trailer which had 40 tonnes of straw alight.
Crews from Burnham and South Woodham Ferrers attended the incident at Reddings Farm in Tillingham on Tuesday morning.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “We sent two engines to the scene, where there was a trailer of 40 tonnes of straw which was 30 per cent alight.
“Crews worked to extinguish the fire by 10.30am and also ensured a nearby electrical board was safe and unaffected.”
The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental.
