A CHARITY rugby match will be held to remember a tragic former Hedingham School student.
The contest between Halstead Templars and Sudbury RFC, organised by Cameron Ross, will remember his best friend Sam Wehmeyer, who died last November, aged 22.
Cameron and Sam attended Hedingham School and the sixth form together, while Sam introduced Cameron to rugby at Sudbury.
The match, to be held on Sunday, has been organised by Sam’s family and friends and will support the Campaign Against Living Miserably (Calm), a charity dedicated to preventing male suicide.
A raffle has been organised for the afternoon, including a rugby ball signed by the Scotland team and a Sale Sharks shirt signed by the team.
Entry is free on the day, and collection buckets will be taking donations.
Kick off is at 2pm at Sudbury Rugby Club in Spicer Way, Great Cornard.
