SPRING was celebrated at a historical site with a full bloom of snowdrops.
More than 200 visitors to Hedingham Castle were treated to fields of the flowers when they visited at the weekend.
Families across north east Essex paid a visit to the Castle Hedingham site, with 13 varieties of snowdrops to see.
It was billed as one of the best places to see snowdrops in the country
Dogs and their owners enjoyed the scenery as did toddlers and children whose parents had taken them out for the day.
Simon Orr: "Considering the freezing cold weather we had, we had an excellent turn out.
"The snowdrops were looking great, and we had lots of families come along which is always a bonus.
"Everybody gathered in the Cafe for soup and mulled wine and it seemed like everyone was having a lovely time.
"I think the real selling point is the combination of the castle setting blanketed in snow drops.
"The combination of the two is a very unique, and rare sight, which you will struggle to find elsewhere."
For your last chance to grab a glimpse of the snowdrops, head along to the castle next Sunday between 11am and 4pm.
