FOUR blockbuster acts have been announced for one great night of comedy at the Empire Theatre.
Following on from last year’s stellar line-up, renowned Gary Delaney will headline, supported by Steve H Allen, Eleanor Tiernan and Milo McCabe.
Gary Delaney is a household name and an award-winning stand-up artist. His last tour was extended four times, and resulted in over 240 dates, while his new tour will cement him as one of the premier comedians in the country.
King of the one-liners, Delaney has a simple philosophy: “A good joke should be like a drunk Glaswegian: short and punchy.” Not just a joker, the regular on Mock The Week has intellectual prowess.
He recently won Celebrity 15 to 1 and will soon be seen on Celebrity Mastermind and Celebrity University Challenge for team LSE, with his old university mate Martin Lewis, from MoneySavingExpert.
com, who encouraged Gary to make his comedy bow.
Support Act Steve Allen is one of the most experienced comedians doing the rounds at the moment.
With a warm and upbeat act that connects with any audience, his material ranges from an observational look at life to topical comedy. As a stand-up Steve has performed all across the UK in clubs including The Comedy Store, Comedy Cafe and Up The Creek.
Eleanor Tiernan gave up work to become a comedian in 2004, and within her first year appeared on hit shows RTE’s The Liffey Laugh and BBC’s One Night Stand.
She made her solo show tour in 2008, before performing to more than 120,000 people as a support act for her cousin, Tommy Tiernan, on his Bovinity tour.
Milo McCabe completes the line up, and with 10 years experience on the circuit he is guaranteed entertainment.
He was twice nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh show award and was listed as GQ’s Top Ten comedy shows of the festival.
