Plans for 104 houses at an industrial estate in Halstead is a “good use of the site” according to residents.
Bellway Homes held a consultation event last Thursday into its plans for the houses on Central Park, off Colchester Road, Halstead.
Central Piling, which currently operates from the site, had planning permission granted in June to move to the Bluebridge Industrial Estate, off the same road.
The development plan, drawn up by the Chelmsford office of Bellway, will include a mix of one to four bedroom properties, including flats and family houses, a proportion of which will be affordable.
The plans also include a new children’s play area, a seating area and a path to the riverbank.
A constant stream of people attended the consultation event at Queen’s Hall, in Broom Hill, Halstead.
Most residents were positive about the plans.
