A Halstead hill will be the setting for a world record attempt when two brothers try to cycle up it 225 times in 12 hours.
On Sunday, August 2, Steve and Tony Collins will pedal side by side along 600 metres of Brook Street between 8am and 8pm.
Each time they will tackle an ascent of 41 metres, meaning they must complete the journey 225 times to beat the world record of 9,271.2 metres, set by an Australian.
As well as trying to beat the world record, the brothers plan to raise money for Little Bleeders, set up by friend and Maldon-born cyclist Alex Dowsett to raise awareness of haemophilia.
