Do you have the time, patience and energy to look after a rescue dog?
The RSPCA Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield is home to 61 dogs, more than 50 cats and 30 rabbits, gerbils, rats and guinea pigs.
But some have spent one too many Christmases without a family, including Barney the German Shepherd-Labrador cross - the kennel’s longest-standing canine resident.
The animal care assistants work 365 days a year to look after their residents and the charity is always in need of temporary and permanent homes for animals - especially at Christmas.
If you would like to foster or re-home an animal from Danaher Animal Home, call 0300 111 4321.
