A fundraising walk ended in disaster after as many as 100 youngsters were stung and two adults were taken to hospital when a hornets’ nest was disturbed.
Hedingham School’s biennial 10-mile fundraiser turned into a walk on the wild side after a swarm of hornets unleashed their fury in a wooded area on the outskirts of Gestingthorpe.
Paramedics and the hazardous area response team (HART) treated walkers at the school.
