Two men have been arrested following a police chase after a car was stolen in Suffolk.

The police helicopter was used to help officers on the ground after the stolen car was spotted on the A131 near Braintree shortly before midday.

The car was reported stolen from Bury St Edmunds.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "The green Ford Fiesta did initially fail to stop and was dumped in River Mead, Braintree, and three people ran off from the car.

"Two people were arrested on suspicion of theft."

The men were arrested at 12.15pm and remain at a north Essex police station to be collected by Suffolk Police officers.

Officers are still looking for the third suspect.
