An Olympic torchbearer has paid tribute to the chiropractors who ensured she was fit enough to run with the flame.
Kate Malyon, 45, of Stubbs Lane, Braintree, runs the Yong Gi Do karate club in the town.
She was nominated to carry the torch by her students as she spends much of her time helping children and adults with special needs.
But Kate, who is currently recovering from an knee injury and a back problem, needed the help of chiropractor Phil Jones, from the Braintree Chiropractic Clinic, in Manor Street, to make sure she was fit to run in Stansted Mountfitchet on July 7.
Phil said: βIt was exciting to be just a small part of the Olympic event even if it was making sure that Kate could run.β
