Three people have been made homeless by a fire.
Eight fire crews are tackling the blaze at two thatched cottages in Stambourne Road, Toppesfield, which started this morning.
By midday the semi-detached cottages were described by the fire service as “100% alight”.
Divisional Officer and incident commander Ray Skinner said: "Firefighters worked very hard to clear away the thatched roof on the cottages to reach the seat of the fire.
“Fire crews also salvaged various possessions from both properties.
“An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire."
