Brave and burly teams attempted to haul an 8-tonne truck 50 metres.
Four teams comprising eight members attempted the feat at the White Hart pub in Butler Road, Halstead, on Saturday.
And it was The Essex Boys whose strength saw them drink up the prize of a barrel of beer after they completed the charity challenge in 22 seconds.
The event was held in aid of Help For Heroes and White Hart manager John Perridge said an estimated £300 had been raised through participants’ sponsors.
