Hot dogs cooled off at an animal fun day.
The Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield organised its annual event at Blackmore End, where the weather was so warm that visiting pooches took a dip in a paddling pool in exchange for donations.
Administrator and supervisor Michaela Mercer said: “We had a plastic paddling pool and ‘dunk a dog’. We filled it with water, people put a little donation in our donation box and there were quite a few wet dogs, so that went quite well.”
There was also a dog show, agility classes, stalls and representatives from animal rescue groups including greyhounds, owls and donkeys.
