A nature fan shared his love of moths with curious members of the public.

Michael Lawrence caught 42 species, including the large elephant hawk and privet hawk moths, to show visitors to Alderford Mill in Sible Hedingham.

Mr Lawrence, who lives close to the Riverside Walk in the village, set up the moth trap in the ancient mill’s yard on Saturday night.

The insects, which wre freed after Sunday’s talk, included two he had not seen before - the Golden Y and the Clouded Brindle.

His talk was the first joint event organised by Hedingham Riverside Walk and the Friends of Alderford Mill.

The mill is open on the second Sunday of the month during the summer and is holding a Victorian day this Sunday with children's games.
