A MANUFACTURER's bid to build a new facility on a Halstead industrial estate has been approved.

Wade International, a manufacturer of drainage products on Bluebridge Industrial Estate's Third Avenue, has had planning permission granted by Braintree Council.

It can now build a single-storey warehouse facility on the southern part of its site and a new car park.

The warehouse will mainly be used for storage purposes and will have concrete low retaining walls and a white PVC roof.

The existing car park spaces at the manufacturer will be cut from 88 to 76 to make space for the new building.

However, a new car park is planned on the northern section of the company’s site, which will include 17 parking spaces.

The planning application says the business currently employees 67 full-time workers, and the expansion will mean it can employ five additional staff members.

The successful application follows on from the company’s previous bid to reposition a warehouse and terrace from the north to the east of the site, which was refused.
