A POPULAR travelling circus is set to put on shows at a Braintree shopping centre next month – with a first-ever all-female motorbike stunt at breakneck speeds.

The Big Kid Circus will appear at Braintree Village Shopping Outlet from March 13-24, with several shows each day.

The circus was founded in 2005 by Biliana and Kiril Kirilov, two experienced acrobatic performers, with Biliana having previously joined a circus at the age of 13, and travelling to Cuba, Italy and Greece.

Together they have successfully produced 16 annual tours in the UK.

Each two-hour show will be full of thrills, excitement and laugh-out-loud moments.

During the show, a group of motorbike riders will “defy gravity and fear” as they race at high speeds inside a mesh globe.

Josef O’Sullivan, centre director of Braintree Village, is excited about hosting the circus company.

He said: “We are incredibly excited to announce the arrival of Big Kid Circus at Braintree Village for the first time and we’re sure it’s going to be a big hit.

“We can’t wait to see what the talented performers have in store, and we know our guests will love to visit as either an after-school family treat or a weekend day-trip.”

The Big Kid Circus boasts performers from Cuba, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Chile, Bulgaria and beyond.

Circus event manager Julia Kirilova said: “We have a truly diverse ensemble of performers, hailing from every corner of the globe, and we can’t wait to introduce them to the people of Essex.

“We’re so excited to bring our unique style of circus performance to Braintree Village.”

Adult ticket prices start at £12.99 and tickets for children and pensioners start at £10.99.
