A VILLAGE café has been crowned the best in the county for a second year running.

Table, in Earls Colne High Street, has won the best café in Essex in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2023.

It comes after a successful year in 2022, winning the same award last year too.

The stylish café is known by residents as being a “little slice of London in the countryside”.

As well as being named the best in Essex, Table also received the incredible news that from 77,000 independent UK businesses, it has been shortlisted by an independent judging panel and is now officially in the top five cafés in the UK.

Founded back in 2020, it was due to open just before the first lockdown hit, but had to postpone it.

The café later opened later that year in July and has been a big success ever since.

The Muddy Stiletto Awards are renowned for their quality and are the ultimate celebration of the best of the best independent businesses in the country.

First coming into prominence in 2011, it has since grown into a business, now boasting more than one million monthly fans and can now be found in 28 counties.

To be shortlisted for their National Awards is real kudos and a huge accolade, with bosses at the café delighted with the news.

Owner Ella said: “We are so delighted at the news.

“We are a small team, and we are passionate about what we do, and cafe culture.

“We deliver consistently great coffee, cake, delicious food and exceptional customer service.

“We remember customers’ coffee orders, and we care about every single detail.

“Our ethos is simple. Table is here to make your day better.”

The café also said it has “lots of exciting projects and collaborations coming before the end of the year”.

Table is found in 90 High Street, Earls Colne and is open from Tuesday to Saturday, weekdays from 7am, weekend from 9am.
