A TOP bill of comedians is coming to Bocking showcasing both top stars and up and coming talent.

The Bocking Arts Theatre is hosting another Braintree Comedy Club Show this week.

Hosted by James Beatty, the bill features comedians such as Phil Nichol and Kathryn Mather and is also bringing legendary comedian Jeff Innocent to the stage.

Innocent has stayed at the top of the game in comedy for more than a decade and is hugely popular on the circuit.

He was crowned British Comedian of the Year in 2021 and has taken one man shows to The Edinburgh Fringe, has toured across the UK and featured in several TV shows.

Another on the show is up and coming Essex comedian Harry Pettitt, from Colchester, who said he was relishing the chance to shine on the same evening as comedic legends.

He said: “I am super excited to be part of this bill with such big names in the industry.

“Really thankful that Beatty has given me the opportunity and I'm just really looking forward to gigging in front of a packed-out crowd in front of an audience just up the road from my hometown.”

Organiser and host of the event James has been running the comedy club for more than a decade.

He said: “I really love running this event.

“We are always trying to champion new acts like Harry who I think will go really far in this industry.

“But we also love bringing back the top comedians like Jeff, who we have had previously quite a while back now.

“We always need comedy, and in times like this more than ever I think.

“We always say if you don’t laugh you can have a refund, and we have had no refunds issued in 12 years.”

The show is this week, on Friday, November 4 from 7pm to 11pm at the Bocking Arts Theatre.
