A SPORTING legend has sent messages of encouragement to pupils at Gosfield School.
England cricket captain Joe Root works closely with the school’s head of cricket Academy, Ben Stephens, and recorded a message to help encourage pupils to “keep working hard” with the sport.
He said: “Hello everyone at Gosfield School, Mr Stephens is here with me today, we’ve been here with the Root Academy.
“I know how hard you’ve all been working with your cricket all winter, I hope you’re really enjoying it an looking forward to the start of the summer.
“Have a really enjoyable summer.
“Keep working hard, keep listening to sir and see you soon.”
The academy was started in 2018 and the school is signing up new Cricket Scholars via selection days.
The next selection day is likely to be for Prep age pupils and this can be arranged by contacting the School at registrar@gosfieldschool.org.uk.
