On Monday evening, of this week at our town council meeting, I handed in my chain of office as Halstead Town Mayor.

I’ve been very fortunate to have served two years as Mayor of Halstead and I would like to say a very big thank you to you, the people of Halstead, for making it such an enjoyable and memorable experience and something I will treasure for ever.

I’m humbled by all the lovely comments I have received.

The groups and organisations I have met have made me so welcome and I thank you all for that. To my fellow councillors, thank you for the support you have given me. To the council staff, you have all been and are an amazing team, who will go the extra mile when needed.

To our town clerk Sarah Greatorex for all your hard work and support and friendship, I would have been lost without you. I would like to say thank you to my husband Alan, who has supported me, and been at my side, through it all. Lastly to the newly elected Mayor Andy Munday.

I wish you all the very best and I’m certain the people of Halstead will support you just as they have done me, the past two years. Halstead, you are in good hands.
