A clergyman will take to the stage during a production about living in a world after a nuclear holocaust.
Canon Dr Graham Blyth will be starring in Shoreline 5 which is being put on by All Saints’ Church in Maldon.
It is partly set on an island, known as Shoreline 5, the last temporary safe haven for people trying to escape the post-nuclear world.
Canon Graham said: “Although there is quite a lot of conspiracy theory in the play, it also draws its ideas from the Bible, especially the Book of Revelation.
“I think that’s the way we look at the big questions today means being prepared to think ‘outside the box’.
“Has God withdrawn from involvement in our world – does he have a plan?
“How far can you pursue evil before it becomes meaningless?”
Actors, musicians and stage technicians from the church are involved in the production.
It will be shown on Wednesday, March 21 and Friday, March 23 at 8pm in All Saints’ Church, Maldon. Admission is free.
