A new printing and framing shop has opened in the centre of Halstead.

Limited Edition began trading on Monday.

The new store offers an array of services, ranging from passport photos to framing professional art work.

Owners Michael Oxley and Colin Volckman are teaming up to run the shop after the latter was made redundant towards the end of the last year.

Mr Oxley, who also owns Art and Framing Centre in Witham, said: “We first started to look at setting up a shop in Halstead last year.

“There wasn’t really anything we liked at the time, but it seemed to come together nicely when Colin was made redundant and then this shop came up.

“We are really pleased with how the shop looks.

“We still want to get a sign set up outside and possibly paint it black if we can get permission.

“We hope it will be a success. You can never be 100 per cent sure, but we wouldn’t be here if we didn’t think we could make it work.”

Both Mr Oxley and Mr Volckman admit it will take time for the business to grow and become established in the town.

However, they remain confident the unique service offered by Limited Edition will see it remain part of High Street for many years to come.

Mr Oxley added: “There’s nothing else really like this around here and I think people have really missed the Kodak shop now it’s gone. The feedback we have had so far has been really positive. Lots of people seem excited we are open. I think they are just relieved to have something that isn’t a salon or coffee shop.

“We like to think that we are different because we can give time to people.

“Our motto is we don’t have customers, we have friends.”
