Intrepid students from a Halstead academy took part in a camping expedition as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
This year, 59 pupils from Ramsey Academy have been taking part in the scheme and were thrust into the wilderness for a practice run of the survival assessment.
Students were provided with a kit of essentials for the 30km walk and camped at Scout locations dotted along the route.
Go-Pros were used to take pictures and videos of the trek for pupils project log.
The two day trip will be repeated in the colder weather at the end of the term when pupils will be assessed.
A spokesman for Ramsey Academy said: "This year was Neil Murray’s last camp with the school before he moved onto pastures new.
"Many thanks to Mr Murray for all he has done over the years with Duke of Edinburgh Award and the school."
