Readers of this newspaper who live in Braintree District should be aware that there is a public meeting on October 17 at 7.30pm in Braintree Baptist Church.
The meeting will hear about plans that the Mid-Essex Clinical Commissioning Group has for redefining the use of 24 beds at Braintree Communtiy Hospital, and the reasoning behind this decision.
The meeting is jointly organised by the Friends of Braintree Community Hospital and the Mid-Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (the NHS arm that commissions the contracts for primary care).
This does not mean that the Friends necessarily agree with these proposals, and individuals will have their own views about what is being proposed and the evidence presented.
However, this meeting is part of a process which will inform the final decision of the CCG and if you miss coming, you may regret it later on if a decision is taken to change the concept upon which the hospital was designed ten years ago.
The meeting is open to everyone and refreshments will be available.
Professor Chris Green, chairman of Friends of Braintree Community Hospital
