A DRIVER had a lucky escape after he was unhurt after his car flipped over on to its roof and crashed into the front of a pub.
Traffic came to a standstill outside the White Rose in Great Bromley after a blue Ford Fiesta overturned.
Police were called to the scene and officers at about 2pm yesterday.
They are investigating how the car managed to flip on to its roof before smashing into the decking outside the pub in Frating Road.
A police spokesman confirmed no-one was injured in the accident.
The gastro pub’s landlady Andrea Lindsay arrived at the scene about five minutes after the crash happened.
She said: “My terrace is a bit mangled after only recently reconfiguring it.
“We had customers in the pub but we haven’t had to close.”
The driver of the car called for a recovery truck to retrieve his car. It was taken away at about 3.30pm.
Andrea said traffic was severely backed up on the road in both directions following the crash.
No-one from the ambulance service was needed.
Eye-witnesses said the driver walked away with a friend after the incident.
