A NURSERY has recreated a photo with two of its first pupils on its 25th anniversary.

Pippins Nursery, in White Colne, has helped almost 1,000 pre-school children set out on their educational journey.

Opened in September 1992 by Sally Scobie the nursery, which practices the Montessori method of early years education, continues to go from strength to strength.

Its first four pupils are now 27 and have featured in its anniversary photo.

Sally, who was joined by her business partner Anita Huckle in 2004, said: “Our continued success is down to adapting to meet the changes required to accommodate the needs of today’s parents and their children along with the demands of successive governments”.

Throughout the 25 years Pippins has always been rated as an outstanding nursery by Ofsted, a fact it is very proud of. The nursery is also accredited by the Montessori evaluation and accreditation board.

Since opening it has included a baby room, which accepts children from three months, extending the care offered until they leave up to five-years-old.

Places at Pippins are in high demand and children are cared for by a team of more than 20 excellent staff.

Home cooked lunches have been prepared daily on site since 2011 have proved to be a huge success.

The children enjoy a wide range of activities including dance, yoga, football, music, French, swimming and time on the fruit farm which surrounds the nursery.

Ms Scobie says the nursery’s continued success is down to an ethos of consistent development of staff and service.
