FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a driver who had been trapped in his car following a crash.
The crash happened in Colchester Road, Wivenhoe, at about 6.50pm on Sunday.
The fire service sent two crews, who worked with paramedics to free the man as his car was on its side.
The driver was released by 7:30pm and was left in the care of the ambulance service.
The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance officer and ambulance crew.
They treated the man, believed to be in his 50s, for a head and arm injury and he was taken to Colchester General Hospital in a stable condition.
