A HALSTEAD man has been banned from driving and ordered to pay £365 after admitting drug driving.

Liam Andrews, 20, of Holmes Road, was found to have 38 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood when he was stopped on Holmes Road on November 1.

The legal limit is 10 microgrammes.

Andrews was also found to have 418 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine, found in cocaine, per litre of blood.

The legal limit is 50 microgrammes.

Andrews also admitted driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on the same date in that he was not being supervised and did not have L plates displayed.

At Colchester Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, Andrews was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

He was fined a total of £250 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
