Police have been urged to "get a grip" and increase their presence in Witham after two "sickening" attacks by a group of youths.
A group of four 17 to 20-year-olds threw punches and rammed a shopping trolley into Cliff Ellis's leg as he prepared to unveil his new boutique, Moda, in the Grove Centre.
Then, on June 14, a couple in Maldon Road were attacked by about ten 12 to 13-year-olds, who were caught climbing on to the canopy of a nearby physio clinic, gym and dance studio.
Witham MP Priti Patel said while the incidents were isolated, police needed to "get a grip" on attacks before more take place.
