A proposed housing development would bring "great benefits" to the village.
A public exhibition into the development of Nuns Walk Field, Great Yeldham, was held on Thursday in the village.
The proposal will see 29 houses built on the land, off of Church Road.
District councillor for Yeldham Iona Parker said; “As far as the development goes, I don’t have a particular problem with it.
“A good deal of thought has gone into it and the developers and landowner have consulted well with the community.
“It is going to bring quite a few benefits.
“There will be some money for a community building and the meadow which is opposite will be given to the village.
“It will be protected open space, although there has never been a risk it would be built on because it is on the flood plain.
“It’s not a very valuable gift, but it will be quite nice for the village to be in control of it."
