Retiring teacher Christine Laurence may have changed during her 37-year-career, but she believes the pupils she has taught have stayed the same.
These pictures show Mrs Laurence’s first class, at Great Bradfords Junior School in Braintree back in 1977, and her final class as deputy headteacher at Belchamp St Paul Primary School.
Mrs Laurence, of Knowles Close, Halstead, said: “A lot of things have changed over the years but it has mainly been technology.
“Now we use interactive white boards whereas when I began it was a blackboard and chalk.
“But the children are pretty much the same as they used to be.”
During her career, the mum of two also taught at Rayne Primary School and Halstead’s Holy Trinity Primary School.
