History detectives are trying to find the families of soldiers whose names are recorded in a church's memorial chapel.
The names of the 116 who died during the First and Second World Wars are on plaques at St Michael's Church in Braintree.
There is an informal evening at the church in St Michael's Lane tomorrow from 7pm for relatives, interested parties, and anyone with information relating to the men on the memorial plaques.
Braintree District Museum will be displaying items from the wars and the original handwritten list of names on the First World War memorial from which the wooden plaques were carved.
Visitors can also bring their own war memorabilia.
Anyone with local artefacts or stories relating to both wars can call Lin Terris on 01376 322870 or email linterris@uwclub.net
