Two top acts will be performing at an evening of acoustic country music.

Steve Cherelle was raised in Essex and is best known for his John Denver tribute act, appearing on Stars in Their Eyes in 1996 performing Annie's Song.

He released his first album Wonderful Today's which won album of the year and its title track, written by Steve himself, won song of the year at the UK Country Radio Awards in 1999.

Steve repeated this same feat with Fallin' In, Fallin' Out in 2000 and he completed the hat-trick when the song You're My True North also won best song at the 2001 awards.

Also performing is the Hayley Oliver’s trio, a group headed by Hayley, who started her musical career at just 11 when she was chosen to sing at the Royal Albert Hall.

Her first love has always been country music, and her repertoire includes the newest country songs.

Both acts will be performing on Sunday at the Empire Theatre, Halstead, with doors at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £14 and are available from empire-theatre.co.uk.
