A Halstead pub is in the running to win a prestigious national award for the quality of its beer.
Judges for this year’s Great British Pub Awards visited the Griffin in Parsonage Street last month and selected it as the winner in the East Anglia and East Midlands region, beating scores of pubs vying for the title.
The award means the pub will go head to head against five other regional winners at the national final in London on September 11 to compete for the UK title of the best cask beer pub and the Great British Pub of the Year.
