Forecasters are warning of potential thundery downpours today and tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain for the East of England, valid until 9pm tomorrow.
Heavy rain will start in the south-west of England on Friday morning, before moving further east and north across the country later in the day.
A Met Office forecast said: "The public should be aware that the resulting downpours may lead to localised flooding and potential disruption to transport and outdoor events."
