An ex-coach driver is encouraging people to join him in calling for resignations after £640,000 was “wasted” on Braintree roundabout alterations.
Semi-retired Ken Fuller, 71, is demanding resignations following new signage and paint work completed last month at the congested Galleys Corner by the Highways Agency.
The High Garrett resident, whose driving job took him all over Europe, said: “What they have done is all wrong.
“It needs a flyover."
A Highways Agency spokesman said: “By widening parts of the roundabout and encouraging use of two lanes, traffic flow on the approach to and through the roundabout will improve.
“Routine road safety audits will be carried out to ensure the road is safe and any issues identified will be resolved.
“We are working with the local authorities to identify potential longer term solutions in this area.”
